Pink Slime (and his "friend" the injection of water in white) is a new problem, pool owners during the last 10 – 20 years. They are present in nature and is caused by a lack of proper pool maintenance and water chemistry. Even non-owners struggle pool pink slime in bathrooms, kitchens and toilets. Never noticed that the pink ring around the basin? E 'pink slime.
We try to define what is pink slime. Pink slime is a naturaloccurring bacterium (of the genus Methylobacterium nascent). Pink Lime is not a form of Algiers, the animals are not vegetables. E 'pink or red-pigmented, forming a heavy layer of protective mucus that provides the body with an unusually high level of protection. Pink slime with methanol (wasting gas) and is often found with Whitewater Mold. This body is extremely reliable and resistant to base halogen (chlorine or bromine) as well as non-halogen sanitizers orgermicides can remain a pollutant, even after treatment.
Although it was initially found in pools treated with biguanides (Baquacil, Soft Swim, Polyclear, etc.), now seen in each and every room in the pool. This is not a problem biguanide alone, or is caused by the use of biguanides.
The pink slime bacterium has an affinity for the matrix on the surface of PVC plastic, are attached to and within the matrix, so thatRe-polluting, not long after, it seems that it is apparently "devastated" (includes pool toys, floats, ladders, walkways, fountains, automatic pool cleaner parts, skimmer baskets, weirs, facilities management, garden hoses, etc.). Small amounts of pink mucus can lead to a restoration of the problem. E 'caused by improper water and pool maintenance, environmental conditions and poor circulation. All Pink slime favorite "dark" is not (not yet exposed to directsunlight) and "slow" water. In another area of medical technology, this bacterium in the laboratory regularly Tubin.
Depending on the color red mud down stairs ladder behind Weir skimmer, skimmer baskets fund returns directional swimming, underwater light pool niche and houses of light. If you find that the pool is not only maintaining chlorine, bromine or hydrogen peroxide used in swimming pools treated biguanides, looking pink slime.
Toregular monitoring of their own pools affected by pink slime, here are some common characteristics:
Many, but not all affected pools have "smaller (bottom) large" cartridge filters. (ie the use of a filter of 75 meters over 24 meters above ground swimming pool or an RND 90 meter filter on a 15 x 30 swimming pool).
Pools affections have 6 or less hours of direct sunlight on the pool surfaces.
Pool owners always leave the solar blanket on and not chemically clean the carpetthe recommended 2 times a year to remove the accumulated biofilm.
"Shocking" oxidizing pool water is not done with the recommended label instructions. For example, instead of shocking the pool every week or two, this task has been neglected, because the water "looks good".
Rain pool seasons see a dramatic increase in cases of pink slime.
Customers regularly add fresh water tap, without their water hose in a couple of minutes (thepink slime is already present in the garden hose and transferred to the pool).
Pools with sand filters do not change the sand every 2 to 3 years and not cleaning the sand filter chemicals 3 times a year (once every 6 to 8 weeks).
Recent observation: most of those affected appear to be used in publicly treated water. Pools filled with well water does not seem to be so hard hit.
Affected pools are not as picky chemical control (water balance, the use ofAdditives such as borate Bioguard Optimizer Plus or ProTeam Supreme, regular shocking), such as swimming pools clean.
Another observation is that many water utilities around the country, in partial response to consumer demand "to" get rid of chlorine from entering the drinking water "is now using mono-chloramines in water treatment (the last 15 to 20 years). Mono-chloramines have a particularly good job in the management of pathogens in drinking water, but some of the non-pathogenic organisms may also beget by. Unfortunately, there are only anecdotal evidence of experience.
Prevention of "pink slime" is preferred to treatment. Follow these steps to prevent pink slime:
Physically brush and clean all surfaces Pool weekly, including ladder steps (especially during each phase) and rails
Expose all surfaces in swimming as much light as possible (sunlight & UV are natural oxidizers)
Remove the lid from the skimmer tosunlight into the basket for a few hours each day ** Inground MUST use extreme caution to prevent a person from falling or otherwise injuring themselves due to an open skimmer.
Often the addition of chemical oxidants in skimmer to remove lines and filter in a bio-cleaning film (use extreme caution when doing so. Adding chemicals slowly and remove any and all products, including the slow dissolving chlorine tablets or sticks in order to avoid a potential chemicalreaction from the explosion.
The addition of make-up water from the garden hose, watering opportunities for 2 or 3 minutes until the snake in the pool.
Regularly clean pool toys & Drives (use Stow Away Bioguard whether a mildewcide)
Regularly clean pool solar blanket (use Stow Away Bioguard)
Chemically clean pool filter every 4 to 6 weeks (Strip Kwik, Kleen It or Soft Swim ® Filter Cleaner uses). This is a very important stepany type of filter sand, DE or cartridge.
Add regular maintenance doses of "Shock" & Algicide every 1 to 2 weeks as required (3 to 4 weeks swimming bguanide).
Using products such as borax Bioguard Optimizer Plus as a preventative measure (drilling, if properly used, with a speed of 50-80 pages per minute, allowing Sanitizer pretty clean clean and prevent algae growth).
Run filter for at least 12 hours a day to avoid "dead spots" in the pool.
Remember to clean the brushes, tubes and deficiencies that is used to clean the pool to rinse
Send as much of your pool equipment exposed to the sun (sunlight is a natural oxidant)
Keep the water balanced at all times. Check for excessive use or rain, or a great top-off of the new water. Water balance refers to Free Available Sanitizer level, pH, total alkalinity, hardness of football.
Treatment of "pink mud" should be fast and everything! DOTang!
Clean all areas affected and pool, as indicated above.
Physically clean and remove all visible "pink slime"
Add an initial dose of the pool Algicide
"Shock" the pool with a dose triple or quadruple
Filters work 24 hours a day until the water is clear and halogen or peroksied levels are maintained at a "higher" level of
Chemically clean air filter. Simple rinsing or washing of the filter, the fat, remove the oil& Other filter pollution accumulated and filter tank.
Tell your pool water professionally tested and analyzed. If you have a pool of companies that do not know what they are talking about and not afraid to tell the truth about the problem.
Maintain Optimizer Plus (or other borate) levels
Maintain a good balance of water pH, Total Alkalinity & Calcium Hardness
As long as you have the red mud yet allowed how difficult ittreat.
